On Tuesday, 12/10, Mililani High School is hosting a community event called Court in the Community. This event will be held in the gym and library for the majority of the day. Our campus has been selected by the State Judiciary to host a live trial from our gym. We will be hosting one State Chief Justice and four Assistant Chief Justices to hear the cases, several attorneys, lawmakers, politicians, county clerks, and five other high schools who will be watching the live trial in our gym.
With that being said, please be aware that there will be extra security measures on campus to ensure a smooth event. Anytime there is movement on campus with the Justices, additional security measures will take place. MHS is working with the State Sheriff's department, the judiciary security director, the Hawaii State Supreme Court, the Press, and the Hawaii State Bar Association to coordinate everything that is going on. Students may will see the State Sheriff's Canine Unit and armed sheriffs and deputies patrolling the entries and exits of our campus.
We look forward to hosting this event and providing our students with an opportunity to experience the Judicial system in action. This event is not expected to impact student drop-off/pick-up on that day as the event will begin at 9:45am and conclude by 1pm.
